Alec attempts to dribble...

Kaden attempts to make a basket

Bryce Shootin' Hoops

Tuesday Night Basketball

Basketball is another favorite of the boys. Alec talks non stop about it. They all enjoy coming to watch me play. I can remember when I was younger, some of my fondest memories were going to watch my Dad's Saturday night basketball games at Gilroy High. The best part was getting to shoot at half time and after the game.

Here is Alec being funny by saying "Word Homie" while putting the hands up as if to say "what's up?"

Alec's attempt to make a shot. Pretty soon he'll be draining threes.

Kaden loves to dribble......

And shoot.............

Then stand there and look like it's too hard to smile for the camera.

A few weeks ago Bryce was really frustrated because he had trouble reaching the hoop with his shots but I introduced him to the saying that "Practice makes Perfect" and sure enough he has no problems reaching the hoop now.

COUNT IT!!!!!!!!

We are now attempting to work on his dribbling skills. I have him dribbling with both hands and once again, he got discouraged when he tried to use his left but I told him to never give up and keep trying and within 10 minutes he improved by 100%

The Rivalry has begun............

SOCCER NIGHTS!!

I grew up playing soccer and had so much fun so a couple of years ago I started Bryce in an actual Rec League. It's one of those non-competetive leagues where every kid gets a trophy. I personally think that this teaches them poor sportsmanship because in the real world, the losers don't get a trophy. He did really well his first two years and scored goals in every season. His first season he had 6. His second season he had 13. But this last season was pretty rough. His team struggled with no subs, but I think he managed 4 or 5 goals. In any case, every time he scored a goal it took me at least 10 minutes to wipe the watermelon size grin off of my face.

GO BRYCE!!!

For Kaden this last fall was his first season and he loved it. He scored 4 goals. Once again I was extremely proud of my child. He was a great sport and did not complain once. His coach loved him and said that he was such a joy to have on the team.

GO KADEN!!!

Alec on the other hand has not played in a league yet but he is definitely ready to start next season. He CANNOT wait. This little one copies everything his big brothers do and his is quite the little athlete. He is really coordinated and just generally knows what he's supposed to do. Can't wait to see him in action next season.
GO ALEC!!!

I can't wait to see all of my boys and future girls play high school sports. That was some of the best times I had in high school.

May Golf

Last Saturday I got the urge to go golfing. I was home with the boys and Sarah was working, so, I decided to just throw the boys in the cart and try to get in 18 holes. Each of my boys have their own clubs so I told them they could take a couple of clubs and get a chance to hit every once in a while. I was so happy to watch them play that it soon became more about them than about me playing 18 holes. Nothing gives me more delight than to watch my children excel at something.

This is a picture of us on the tee of hole 10 at Apache Creek Golf Course. I loved the view and a really nice couple that I let play through said they would take a picture of all of us.

This is Bryce crushing the ball off of the tees. If you look close enough, you can see the ball flying straight. The kid has a better follow through than I do.

Kaden is my lefty. When we first started playing the year the kid had the wildest, most out of control swing ever. So I had him shorten his backswing and pretty soon he outdrove Bryce a couple of times.

This is Alec. He talks nonstop about going to the "golfing course" and the "sasketball course". The kid is all about sports. Everyday he asks me if we can go golfing. He swings cross-handed but he's getting it. I'm working with him little by little. This is him telling Bryce to move it or lose it.

I love being able to spend this time with my sons. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than sharing my knowledge with them. Well except for the occasional date night with Sarah. But watching them do well brings instant laughter of joy to my heart and a huge proud smile to my face.

Here are some more pics.....
